Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are very motivated and love to read. We are a NEU school, which means No excuses University. We motivate students from kindergarten and on to always have a plan after high school. We are from a small farm and rural community and we like to have these opportunities to help our students prepare for a better future.
My students come from all different backgrounds but all have positive spirits in common and want to better themselves every day.
My Project
My students love to read book series. These books were all special requests. They cannot find many of these titles in our school or local library.
Many students cannot buy their own books so by having these books available in my classroom library, it will allow them to read books that they find enjoyable.
These books will benefit many students for years to come. Having books that students enjoy will encourage them to read. This encourages even my non readers to begin reading because these are books that they actually enjoy. I like taking requests from students so I can get books that I know they will enjoy.
