My Students

My English language arts classroom is a place of challenge and discovery. Students will spend this year learning the foundation of knowledge and skills they will need as they move forward in advanced studies.

I have four classes of seventh and eighth graders in a rural Tennessee school who are excited about learning.

They are excited to explore the world of literature as they complete writing tasks to expand their capacity for critical thinking. They take pride in their efforts and are willing to challenge their minds for the sake of learning.

My Project

These novels are two of the favorite ones that I teach in my language arts class. The students get hooked and a love and excitement for reading is created. The copies I have in my room are worn out! I have used them the last 11 years, so they need to be replaced.

Receiving these books will allow me to keep teaching these novels and continue the love of reading for years to come.

It is important to have enough copies so students can be allowed to take them home and read independently. My goal is to use these books to encourage students to read, read, read!
