My students need a listening center to use during literacy centers.
This project expired on August 12, 2013.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Our classroom only had an old tape player that students could use one at a time. When you have twenty children and one toy that they all want... it's not a happy moment. We have been meeting new characters in our books that are only available on cd but we don't have a cd player.
My students are five and six years old.
They love listening to stories! Our little school is the oldest public elementary school in the county and our technology seems to be stuck in the past also. Our school has been doing everything possible to keep up with technology but we still need your help.
A listening center would benefit my kindergarten students by making literacy centers more exciting. Students could be in a group of up to eight students listening to the same book. Kindergarteners are learning to read but they still love to hear a story read to them. I would love to give the opportunity to my students to have a listening center.
A listening center would make a difference in my classroom because students could use it daily.
Currently, only one student can listen to our tape player at a time. If you help us earn this listening center, a group of eight students could listen at the same time! If we had this listening center, it would give us the opportunity to enhance our Guided Reading groups and become better readers.
