This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are spunky bug collectors with a sea full of energy. They love to dance and make up secret missions to travel down the halls creating smiles for those passing. My students never stop moving and learn from working with their little hands. The students are on a variety of learning levels and are very attentive to their friends who may be exceptional learners. They are a loving bunch with a ton of hugs to give. We may shed some tears but we talk out our feelings, do a little yoga, and shake a tail feather to bring back our positive energy. We call ourselves organized chaos.
My Project
We love to paint so much we’re studying the arts! We are so excited we can’t keep clean. Receiving smocks will allow us to fully embrace our masterpieces with no worries of big messes. Not only are we skilled in painting but we are nature performers but not all of our friends can tolerate music for long. Headphones will allow our musicians to enjoy music and movement and our exceptional learners some time without so much auditory stimulation. Receiving sand for our water tables gives cute little cold fingers a break during these cold months and prepares them for beach adventures during free exploration. Lastly we are learning the importance of feelings and how it is ok to feel. But sometimes it’s hard to verbally tell each other but oh how fun would it be to use play dough to work through strong emotions. Thank you for making our learning environment better!
