We Love Technology and Learning!

My students need access to a modern, updated computer that will allow them to utilize multiple programs from language immersion, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

My Students

My students are a highly enthusiastic and diverse group of learners! They come from wonderful families with a strong commitment to education, who will support their children as best as they can to achieve successfully in the classroom and in the future.

Unfortunately, as this is a very high poverty school, many of the students do not have access to computers beyond the classroom.

Additionally, some of my students have just arrived in this country end spend their days in the classroom lost due to a language barrier. To support their growth while being immersed in English and American culture, I would love to offer them the opportunity of a mobile learning center. This would allow them the chance to participate in the lesson through translation services available online, as well as using supportive texts and documents to correspond with the class lessons so that they are working alongside their peers.

My Project

A MacBook Air will allow my students to learn more about their/our culture, their/our language, build understanding, promote teamwork, and enhance collaboration in group work around the classroom. Most children do not have access to Mac computers at home, and learning to use updated technology in the classroom at an early age will further put them on the path to academic success, promoting career and college readiness. I will continue to structure my lessons with multiple entry points for all learners to be successful in the classroom, and this would further support this type of hands-on learning in my classroom.
