My Students
Our school is filled with brilliant students that are not always afforded the opportunity to shine. Our school is a Title I school located in a small rural town in Alabama whose economy was once fueled by the textile mills.
100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite the economic challenges that our students have, they continue to work hard and persevere. Our parents, teachers, and members of the community all work together and do what they can, sometimes it's just not enough.
My Project
Softball is new to our girls. Our girls want to play and love the game; however, they lack equipment and the skills necessary to successfully compete.
We love Softball!
Our girls work hard, practice extra, and give it their all but we have only won one game in the past two seasons. We need bats, a batting cage and balls so that we can practice and learn the skills we need to play and successfully compete in games.
We have the support from the school, community and parents; however, we do not have the equipment necessary to practice fundamentals such as hitting.
