This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are excited to learn! We need to have the resources to make sure that we are able to learn like many other schools and towns around us. We are a high poverty area in Northern Illinois. My class is very high energy and it takes a lot to get them interested in a subject. Once they get interested, they want to know as much as they can about the subject as possible. My students are also extremely hard workers. They want to do as much as they can throughout the day so they need to have resources available to them.

My Project

For the past several years I have been able to get my students class subscriptions to Storyworks. They absolutely love reading the articles and stories that are in the magazines.

I would like to make sure that my next class has to opportunity to also read and learn with these magazines.

Since I will be teaching 4th grade next year I would also like to get Storyworks Jr. so that my lower readers will also be able to experience reading this magazines.

All of the stories and articles in this magazines are creative and interesting for the students. These magazines make learning fun for the students.
