Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students come from diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn. We are the only open enrollment French Montessori program in New Orleans. The majority of our students are from low-income backgrounds and parents are very excited to have this opportunity for their students.

As a brand new school, we are working hard to provide for our students.

We want to make sure we have everything we need to engage them and help them learn. Our students are creative and we are overjoyed to serve them!

My Project

My students, their parents, and I have all been working hard to collect engaging, just right books to nurture a lifelong love of learning. As we have collected books, finding a place to display them has been problematic. We are in need of a six shelf bookcase so the books can be within my students' reach at all times.

They are self-motivated to read and research all topics including, but not limited to, history, geography, science, math, zoology, biology, and botany.

Access to these books will allow them to write informative reports, persuasive essays, and narratives about all they have learned.
