All students are special. That is what makes teaching such a great profession. It is inspiring to see them light up when they master a new concept or when they are proud of a project they completed.
The ability to close the achievement gap in our school is predicated on teachers not only having the heart to teach but also the tools needed to facilitate that learning.
Having 21st-century learning is a vision for our school.
My students come from many different cultural backgrounds. That is the beauty of our school. Our school is in the middle of Silicon Valley. Hence, technology is an important component of​ our school, though our school community also believes in the arts. Music is very important to our students, teachers, and parents.
My Project
A class set of Magician's Nephew will allow my students to get excited about quality literature. The book ties into our current literature, as it is the prequel to the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe that the students get to read.
Inspiring students to read through quality literature should be one of our goals as teachers.
We will also use the book to tie into our reading standards. Using novels to teach the standards is so much more engaging and meaningful to the students.
Having a room that is conducive to reading is also important. I want to create an environment where students can and want to read.
