This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to school every day excited to learn and make new friends. I have a great group of diverse learners. My twenty-two kindergarten students are vibrant and inquisitive. It's very important to me that my classroom is a safe environment to learn and grow in every day!

My students have little hands but big hearts.

My students are so eager to learn to how to read. They come to school every day ready to try their best and cheer each other on!

My Project

My kindergarten students are so excited to read! Scholastic Monthly Readers will provide my students with a weekly magazine that is rich with photographs and exciting current events. Scholastic Monthly Readers will provide new and relevant reading material. I will use these magazines to enhance vocabulary, boost confidence and increase reading engagement for all levels of learners.

These magazines are relevant to their world, appropriately leveled and contain engaging articles on current events.

They will allow me to better integrate reading into social studies and science instruction.
