My Students

As their first school experience, I try to create an environment full of enthusiasm and energy to get my students excited and ready to learn each day. We begin with a morning meeting to welcome everyone and set the stage for a great day. I encourage all my students to dream big and never give up on their ideas.

While my students come from many different backgrounds and abilities, each child brings a unique situation to our classroom.

We value differences and encourage each other as we are learning and growing throughout the year.

We are a high performing K-5 elementary school in a suburb of Washington, D.C., where many students come from military families. My classroom family consists of 27 bubbling students who love learning!

My Project

I strive to create a print-rich environment for all my little learners. With these books, I will enhance my classroom read-aloud time for all students to enjoy. I have chosen a variety of books over topics of growth mindset, mindfulness, holidays, curriculum driven topics, and more.

Read-alouds are a favorite time in our classroom, and with the variety of books from this project, we will be able to create meaningful and deep conversations regarding topics related to the world around us.

These books will be cared for within our classroom library which will also allow for my students to have more choice in their book selections during independent reading time. I hope this project allows for my students to increase their love of learning and reading within my classroom.
