My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My Project
My students are an active group of readers who are flying through the books on our shelves! They absolutely love choosing books for their independent browsing baskets (a big component of our Units of Study reading curriculum), and need to have at least a dozen options every day.
Currently, my classroom would really benefit from more texts at certain levels; keeping 19 students engaged in enough books that are fresh and interesting can be a challenge!
I've specifically selected titles and levels that we have the greatest need for in my classroom, and I know that students will absolutely love and connect with these texts.
We have quite a few books from the non-fiction Pioneer Valley books, and I can attest to the high quality of the texts and illustrations! The students and I all love Pioneer Valley Books, and hope that we can add these new titles to our collection to help keep high-interest books in the hands of students!
