This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are the most talented, interesting, and motivated group of first graders that I've ever met. However, they are faced with many barriers that prevent them from working to their full potential. Those barriers include low income, single parent homes, military families, and a lack of technology. Although my students are very diverse, they each share a strong desire to learn to read, write, and solve problems. That's why having the latest technology gadgets and using the best practices is so important to me.
My Project
STEM is very important in the early years. Students should have access to science, tecnnology, engineering and mathematics. That's why we need an Osmo gaming system. Osmo can be used to teach early coding skills. That is definitely how we plan to use it in our first grade classroom. Osmo inspires creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration between students. With the Osmo coding component, students will explore, discover, and master the basics of programming. Students will use block-based coding to explore Awbie’s world in a fun and surprising adventure! Your donation to our classroom will help my students become prepared for the future of technology.
