Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love that I teach in an Early Childhood Special Education blended classroom. I get the best of both worlds teaching students with diverse needs. My students come from families of lower-income and higher needs. Life is already challenging, but having a Pre-K program that serves families without the need to bring anything to school is amazing.
These students need diversity, emotional and social support, and even more love!
I love teaching students; those with higher needs makes it just that more rewarding to see their growth when their world is sometimes not so pleasant. My students' smiles make my day.
My Project
Our students are made up of a blended classroom. We learn through play bases throughout the day. We have centers throughout the day and the dramatic center is one of their favorite centers. Having a place for their clothing means having able to find items without making havoc. I teach a specially blended classroom and having an organization is important. My students need and thrive on routine. In this center which is centered around dramatic play, the students work on social-emotional skills with their classmates. In this center, they work on parallel playing also, which is very important!
