This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nelson Mandela once said "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Imagine not knowing about the world outside of your neighborhood. This is the reality for many of my 3rd graders. Help me change this sad fact.

I teach a wonderful group of third graders in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

My students love to learn about current events but we have very limited resources. In the past our school was able to provide a number of student magazines to support my students but due to drastic budget cuts, this is no longer a possibility.

My Project

I am requesting 30 subscriptions for TIME For Kids magazine. Teaching Social Studies is always a struggle with the limited resources we have. I feel that teaching and reading about current events is a huge part of any responsible Social Studies program. I want to motivate my students to take an interest in the world around them. Receiving a Time for Kids subscription for all of my students would make it possible for my students to read about current events on their reading level.

By donating Time For Kids Magazine to my class, you will be making a huge difference in the lives of my third graders.

I want to offer them every learning opportunity possible and you would be helping me achieve that goal.
