The majority of the students at our school are from low-income families. They look forward to school in order to use and have access to things they normally have no access to at home.
My students enjoy school and work hard throughout the day.
They have little or no access to books and many do not visit the local library. These books would allow me to add a classroom library that is up to date and the listening center would allow me to also incorporate a variety of skills and subjects to my whole and small group centers.
The listening center would give them access to a whole new area of learning using technology they don't normally have access to and by reading books that encourage learning and help them to excel and succeed.
My students are special kids who work hard and need to feel happy and comfortable at school. They would excel given the opportunity to use updated technology. They deserve books and a listening center!!
My Project
Our students need books for our classroom library and a listening center for small groups. Reading lots of books create success in all academic areas of school and make children more appreciative and informed in all areas of life.
My kids LOVE to read!
We need to keep our classroom library up to date with the latest books and also replace books that are getting worn out. As a Title I school, my kids don't have a lot of books at home and many do not have access to the local library.
I try to bridge those gaps by making sure they are reading books that are not only fun but educational and informative.
