This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"The world is full of magical places, and the library has always been one of them for me. A library can be that special place for our children." -Julie Andrews
My classroom is made up of 19 amazing learners!
They come to class ready to learn despite the obstacles they face prior to stepping foot in the classroom. We are a Title I school and almost all of my students are English Language Learners. My students love coming to school because I make learning fun!
My Project
I am requesting high interest stories for our classroom library. My students will use these books to read during our independent/buddy reading time. They will also listen to them as read alouds. I love introducing new series of books to my students and sharing my love of books! Most of the books that I have chosen are high interest books written by Mo Willems, who is best known for his Piggie and Elephant series.
By helping to fund this project, you will be putting books into the hands of children.
These books will allow my students to improve their reading skills and foster their love of literacy.
I've also included dry-erase dots to stick to the guided reading table. Students will use these dots to respond to their guided reading stories.
