Some of my students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations. This will be the year that magic happens and they fall in love with books.
Kindergarten is the year many students start to read and I hope to have a variety of great books to stimulate their learning.
My 20 little students will be arriving soon and they will be excited to be a part of our school.
We are a new Charter School in Bibb County. Our students and their parents are all happy to be a part of our school. We have an active PTO, active parent support and teachers who are thrilled to teach at ACE.
My Project
We will be using a reading system that has a focus text each week and my library is lacking a few of the titles. We will read the book together and do writing, retelling and class discussions using each book. Each book will be placed in our library for the children to explore after we read it together. We need 14 kindergarten books to use with this reading program.
This project will make a big difference in our classroom because the children will be able to touch, examine and use the books in the classroom.
We are very lucky to have a wonderful setting to teach, but there are just a few books that I will need during the year. Our PTO has graciously offered to help support our needs and your support will help supply quality text from which to teach reading. Thank you for your support.
