My Students

My students are from Worcester, MA, and are part of the Head Start program. This program gives low income children from all cultures an opportunity to learn and thrive within a safe, warm environment. My energetic preschoolers enter the classroom eager to learn, discover, and explore in a safe, nurturing environment. Children come to my classroom knowing they will be loved, cared for, and all their needs will be met. In our classroom, we strive to teach our children to be a community. They work to help each other out and care for each other every day.

My Project

Help our children get basketball hoops for our gyms! Our gyms are in old classrooms; therefore, they are not very well equipped. Our children have been playing basketball for months now with no basketball hoops! They are just pretending there is a hoop on the wall and throwing the ball against the wall. I would love to surprise them all with these basketball hoops so we can continue to play basketball and get the exercise they need and improve their gross motor skills. Exercise and gross motor development is very important for young children, so these basketball hoops will help to keep the children moving and healthy!
