I am a Pre-Kindergarten teacher in an equity plus school. Approximately 80% of our student population receives free/reduced lunch, 20% are English as a Second Language and 18% are exceptional children. My class is made up of children that have been labeled academically at risk. My students talk about basketball all the time. After observing some of my students dribbling a basketball, I believe that I might even have a future basketball star amongst them. My students love to play basketball, but we do not have hoops for them to use to shoot baskets. As of right now, we are using a yard cart as a basketball hoop. I would love to feed into my student's enthusiasm for basketball with some basketball hoops that are just their size. These hoops would not only get them even more excited about basketball, but they would also help enhance their eye hand coordination and gross motor skills which they are lacking. The basketball hoops that I found are portable, so I can easily move them in and out of the school. My students do not have access to basketball hoops at their homes. These hoops would enable them to get the exercise they need and help them learn how to work together as a team. I would be very grateful for a donation of these items. I appreciate any help you can give. Thank you for your consideration.
