Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Pre-Kindergarten program has a mixture of bilingual, English learners and low-income students. With a total of 25 students in my classroom, there is definitely a mixture of personalities, backgrounds, and abilities. However, they are always eager to learn and challenge themselves in everything they do. They love to play and explore the world around them. They are a fun-loving group of 4-5-year-olds.
I teach at a school that provides free breakfast to all their students and free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
I have been inspired to create a gross motor area in my classsroom with materials we can use both inside and outside. Most 4-5 year olds needs to get their wiggles out several times throughout the duration of the school day. Acquiring materials that will get them moving will assist my students in remaining focused on engaging activities and gain the strength needed to develop their gross and fine motor skills.
The Balance Builder Beam will provide my students with a safe way to build balance, coordination, and confidence in themselves.
The Catch A Ball CupSet, catching mittens, and ring toss will help with hand-eye coordination while providing fun and entertaining challenges.
