My Students

Welcome to my classroom of young pirates! We are a typical 2nd grade classroom filled with 23 students that are young, active, and excited to learn. This year our goal is to ditch our traditional seats and activate our brains by simultaneously activating out bodies!

I am so lucky to have such an amazing class of kiddos this year.

They are sweet, helpful, and constantly amazed by the things they are learning. Their curiosity is contagious, and I am so excited to come to school everyday to teach them. My class can also be described as very typical 2nd graders because THEY LIKE TO MOVE! Let's face it, who CAN sit still all day? As long as my kiddos are moving, they are learning!

My Project

It's time for us to ditch out traditional chairs and replace them with Wobble Chairs! My goal is to have one chair for each child in the classroom to sit on as an option whenever they would like to throughout the day. Research has shown that by ditching traditional seating and filling a classroom up with alternative forms of seating naturally increases a student's ability to stay focused, become more engaged, participate in group activities, and increase attention span. All of these things, combined with a fantastic group of young learners, will ultimately increase their learning.

Help me help my kiddos by supporting my need for alternative seating in my classroom.

These seats will help them stay more engaged, focused, and attentive. Wobble Seats are also a great way to keep kids moving to fight the childhood obesity epidemic that has become a problem in the last few years, and it will ultimately burn off more of their energy as they will no longer be required to "sit" in class for 7 hours each day!
