Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from all over the world and all of our differences are what makes learning in our classroom fun! We are a community of learners where we make mistakes, grow, work as a team, and engage in difficult tasks daily.
Each of my students has unique learning needs.
Our school is a Title I school where the majority of our students receive free lunch and breakfast. Although my students may face many hurdles in their schooling, they come to school each day energized to learn!
My Project
Have you ever left a long meeting feeling like you have no idea what the presenter said? Students feel that way daily in school when we are not able to meet their unique needs for learning. It is critical that we provide every student with the materials they need to learn every single day. Sometimes these materials are not pencils and notebooks. Because my students are social and wiggly, they need seating choices to help them focus, learn and grow.
Instead of teaching my students to learn how to sit, they need seating that allows them to learn!
I am asking for stools that allow my students to wiggle and wobble as they work, Bouncy Bands to let students fidget in a way that is not distracting, and essential oils to help us to create a calm and inviting environment.
