Help me give my students the opportunity to be more creative in the classroom, with the ability to bring their projects to life with a Cricut machine and accessories.
My students, past and present, are my rock stars. I absolutely love teaching, and I am always looking for ways to reach and teach all of my students. Thanks to good parenting and positive classroom culture, my rock stars are kind, polite, intelligent, fun, creative, thoughtful, and enthusiastic learners! I teach at a Title l school, which means more than half of our families are at or near the poverty line.
They come to school each day excited to learn!
The primary years are such important years. I love to watch them grow both personally and academically. Although they are all very different and some face challenges, they all have one thing in common: they love coming to school!
My Project
It was another dreary morning, I knew that indoor recess was the only kind my students would have. UGH, again! I wanted to bring something to school to switch it up a little bit. I love paper crafting, so that morning I brought my machine to school to show my students how it worked. Well, they were absolutely obsessed from that point on. I kept it there for about a week, and they were able to try a few different crafts with it. I wish I could bring mine back and forth, but it's pretty heavy, and it requires a second big bag of tools to go with it as well. They are good kids, and they deserve their own! Help us add a Cricut Explore Air 2 to the classroom, they will be able to use it for many things.
Cards for their Kindness Club, Maniplulatives for Math, Crafts for Indoor Recess, Art for Projects, Labels for the Classroom; the list of things they can do with a Cricut goes on and on!
They already told me about all of their desires, I had to remind them that indoor recess is only 20 minutes long! I was so happy when the first thing they mentioned was their Kindness Club. This year I focussed on Social Emotional Learning, SEL, and I see it has made such a huge difference in the way they treat each other, and strangers. The Kindness Club they created makes cards and uplifting messages for students they don't know! I think this will be a fantastic addition to the classroom, and something they can use during indoor recess and throughout the day as needed. Please help my Rock Stars get crafty and creative!
