My students need a comfortable library area in order to focus on mastering their reading and language arts standards.

Although many of my students are in a low-income/high poverty area, my students are amazing and fun-loving! They all have a love of learning that will take them far. They are an unique group that have already told me they want to make it to college. They are in need of materials that can help them take their love of learning and their knowledge to the next level.
I want something that can challenge their thinking, expand their minds, and make them want to learn more.
I want them to be excited to learn! I want to make sure that through engaging activities and a classroom that is comfy and welcoming, my students can make their dream of going to college a reality.
I will be teaching 4th and 5th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies this up coming school year. That means that I will be having some of the same students that I had last year! For that I am excited! That group loved laying on the floor to spread out and do work, as well as read! They loved to read lying on the floor! Having a library area that is filled with pillows and a nice rug for them to read on would be prefect for them! Who doesn't like to be comfortable while they are reading?!
This area won't only be used as a library area.
I also want it to be used as a work area where the students will be able to focus more intently on what is being asked of them. This flexible seating area will also help to extend their thinking as well. I want every child that comes through my door to fill like they are in an area where they will be able to learn and have the confidence to grow as a student.
