This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have 29 "SUPER" Learner 2nd graders. For most of them this is their first full year of school. The last time was when they were in kindergarten before the pandemic and schools went remote. We have worked hard to get them excited about school, especially reading. They have been on computers at home for the past two years zooming. Being in a physical space with actual book, hands on activities and other peers has been both exciting, rewarding and challenging as a teacher.

With the book shelf, the stool for me to do read- a -louds and the Picture Perfect STEM resources, I hope to plan and teach my students to love reading and being in school again.

The many other supplies are just things that I will use for displays, materials for various projects or every day supplies that we run out of. Our room is mostly white boards wall to wall so the magnets (good magnets) are a must. We us a lot of painters tape and command hooks because we are not supposed to staple on the walls and one who wall is glass. I have just found that I can get my students to love writing when they use mechanical pencils. They sure do go through them quick. Thank you in advance to your time and consideration for my class. Any little thing will be appreciated and used as we head down the home stretch to becoming 3rd graders.
