My students need these wobble chairs that allow them to rock and tilt in all directions while staying focused on their work. These chairs allow for motion seating!

My Students

First grade is full of little bodies that have so much energy and they struggle to stay seated in a standard chair and desk to do their work. My class is in need of a variety of seating options to meet the needs of all the students.

There are many times throughout the day I sound like a broken record, repeating the phrase, "please sit down!" But the fact is that, studies show kids can not sit for long periods of time.

Many kids function better when they can move as they complete a task. When you walk into any classroom you will probably see students sitting on their knees in a chair, leaning over a desk, standing to work, laying on the floor, or even walking around the classroom. Kids need movement and work better when they have a variety of choices to choice from when it comes to seating options.

My Project

This project will give my students the opportunity to chose from a variety of seating options to complete their work. These seats allow students to move while working and do not disrupt the entire learning environment. As they sit to work they can move from side to side and front to back while not bothering anyone else in the room. Many studies have shown that students that need movement can focus better when having these types of seating options in their classroom.

These stools have motion seating!

There rounded base allows these high energy children to focus while rocking and tilting in all directions. They have padded seats and are vinyl so it makes them easy to clean.

It encourages good posture and strengthens their core muscles. They are great alternative to having students walk around the classroom disrupting others.
