My students need these writing materials including 2 thesauruses, 50 composition notebooks, sight word and grammar bingo games, and student folders because by becoming better writers, they will also become better readers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Reading and writing.. 2 of the most important skills that we all have learned in order to be successful. The materials I am requesting will help my students learn the parts of speech, sentence basics, and paragraph basics so that they can become skilled writers, and in turn become better readers.
My students are a great bunch of kids who are eager to learn, and deserve the best education they can possibly receive.
Located at an "at-risk" school in Nevada, our school is made up of a diverse group of students. However, a majority of our students are Hispanic or English Language Learners. Though they may have some language barriers, our students are eager to learn English, love to write, and love to share their experiences.
My Project
All of the resources I am requesting are writing-related, and they will definitely have a positive impact on my students' success. The great thing about these resources is that they will be used again and again to help future students learn how to write, and at the same time become better readers. Beginning with the sentence basics, and moving through into multi-paragraph pieces of work, our students will learn about writing sentences, writing paragraphs, the writing process, as well as different types of writing.
This particular project is near and dear to my heart.
As a student I didn't like writing. In fact I hated writing. But, it wasn't until I made my way to high school that I truly changed, and found my love for writing. One teacher in particular just opened up my eyes to how fun writing can be, as well as how it truly applied to my own life. My philosophy is that if I can help students find their passion for writing at an early age, they will only become better and stronger writers.
