My Students
My students and I go to a very unique school. It is small and located in a remote area. We have a very tight-knit family atmosphere with multi-grade classes. I am able to provide individualized curriculum and build strong relationships with all my students. I strive to provide an education that teaches all my students to love reading because it provides knowledge and experience beyond what they will have in our small town. Many of my students have limited life experiences and I want school to be a place for them to learn more about the world through reading and exploring all types of literature.
My Project
My students love to read but many struggle to read traditional chapter books and have already devoured the graphic novels and comic book style books in my classroom library. I need to restock the shelves with more books!
They need more books to read that are interesting and modern such as the Baby Mouse series, Here's Hank series, Lunch Lady, and the Who Was series.
This project will add new fresh titles for my students to read during independent reading time. My students will learn about the world around them with these books while also growing their love of reading and building critical literacy skills.
