Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are as unique and diverse as the neighborhoods and homes they come from. They are energetic, inquisitive, and eager to learn new things every day!
My school is a large Title I school in North Carolina.
Many students receive free lunch, and all students receive free breakfast. My students love coming to school and are so excited to learn, share in our classroom community, and work toward meeting their learning goals. We are a diverse school and are in the process of becoming a Dual-Language school next year!
My Project
These supplies are staple items found in most classrooms. Simple things like paper, pencils, crayons, and scissors would be used everyday and would ensure that my students have the tools that they need to be successful in the classroom.
Many of our low income students lack the resources to purchase these items on their own.
As their teacher, I have purchased some of these supplies with my own money throughout the year, but this is not always possible. My students are such hard-working and amazing kiddos, and they deserve to use quality and new supplies instead of trying to make do with broken pencil and crayons, or trying to share 2 or 3 pairs of scissors among 20 students.
