My Students

Martial Billeaud Elementary School is a brand new school in Broussard, Louisiana in the heart of Cajun country in south Louisiana. Here, the students at Martial Billeaud Elementary are fortunate to grow up in an area that is rich in local Cajun culture and music!! I want to give my new group of students a chance to learn about our music as well as music from all around the world by giving them an opportunity to play beats and rhythms on drums for hands on learning.

My Project

Our school is brand new for the 2019 school year. The students will be walking in to a very thinly stocked music room. We need a little help to get going! These “rainforest kongas” will give the students a durable, high quality instrument that they can learn to play local, folk, and even world music right from their music room. Music is at the heart and soul of Louisiana culture and these drums could b the tool that ignites the fire for future Hall of fame musicians! Thank you so much. Our students at Martial Billeaud Elementary School appreciate your help!
