My Students

Welcome to the new world of reading! Students are expected to read books at a higher level by the end of first grade and use technology successfully. This opportunity will allow them to experience both.

We are a class of 27 first graders who live in a small mountain town.

Our school serves kindergarten through third grade. We have a wide range of readers from just understanding beginning sounds to reading at a third grade level, just in the first grade.

My Project

We are requesting an iPad to help differentiate our reading. With such a wide range of levels it is crucial that we meet each reader at their level. An iPad gives us the opportunity to both read fiction and nonfiction texts and use interactive software to master phonemic skills.

This is so important to our class because we have a very limited budget and we are in a very low income area.

The majority of our students do not have access to a computer at home, and we only have two on our classrooms. This would be an extra opportunity for students to read and interact with technology.
