Help me give my students more options for outdoor play. As part of our ongoing playground renovation project, we are hoping to get rid of broken toys and replace them with new ones.
The students in my pre-kindergarten classroom are excited to learn and experience all that the classroom has to offer. We focus our curriculum on the interests of children by designing activities focused on what the children are curious about. They are four and five years old and attend the program two days per week in groups of sixteen children.
The children in my classroom are eager to engage in learning each day and approach the activities with excitement and interest.
My class is an inclusive group of children with varying skills and abilities who come together as a learning community focused on demonstrating kindness and working together.
My Project
It is so critical for children to spend time outside and we have come to realize the many academic and behavioral benefits of daily interactions with the outdoor environment. Providing many choices outside will ensure that children have opportunities to direct their own play and work with peers in a less structured environment.
Our program received a grant last year to naturalize our play space and we are hoping to upgrade our outside toys to ensure that they are safe and appropriate for the children.
We are excited about the changes and hope that you will support our efforts to give our children a safe and engaging outdoor curriculum.
