Help me give my students comfortable places to work around the room. Flexibility to sit where they work best with our futon, stools, wobble seats, and organization cart.
Fifth graders are the best! I enjoy teaching fifth graders because the students are so inquisitive, spirited, and they are just starting to develop their own likes and dislikes in life. They're beginning to make big decisions about what's important to them.
Students from a Title I school like ours do not always have everything they need or want, but my students are always so thankful for all they do receive.
I try to provide them with all the tools they need to succeed.
My Project
Options for students currently include carpeted areas and high tables with stools for students that need to stand while they are working. We have low tables and the students would benefit from the stability cushion seats. We also have a futon for comfortable reading which will benefit from a new cover.
Students will be able to try out different work areas that help them focus the best.
Once the students find what fits for them they have a better chance of succeeding in class. When they are able to focus on learning instead of being uncomfortable, learning can happen seamlessly.
Flexible seating gives students the right to choose where they learn. Having a cart on wheels will allow me to adjust seamlessly from group to group.
