My Students

My students come to my class to get a break from their regular classroom routines. They get to express themselves and use their imaginations. My students haven't had art classes until 6th grade. For many of them, art becomes their outlet for self-expression.

My students come from small farming communities around the county our school is located in.

Most of them don't have a background knowledge of art, but they are open to learning. They are good kids with outstanding ideas. My students are great at running with the crazy things I throw out at them, but they need some inspiration.

They have great attitudes and I look forward each fall and spring to meeting all my new students.

My Project

My students have been hard at work creating projects to be 3D printed. In fact they have been SO BUSY creating that we have nearly run out of filament!

Students in my room utilize the 3D printer for a number of projects, including a house design project which they initially design in their Geometry class.

They print floorplans for that project as well as items for their normal class assignments.

My students continue to complete their projects using trial and error to troubleshoot printing problems. They learn by experiencing and continuously help each other to expand and improve their work.
