Help expose my students to some of the best children's literature every written, even if they can't quite read it independently yet. Help them listen to these classic books on CD.
My students attend a kindergarten through fifth grade elementary school in Indiana.
There are 24 wonderful fourth graders in our classroom. We have 17 girls and 7 boys. My students range in ability levels. I have students with learning disabilities, students with autism, students with attention deficit, students with communication disorder, students with high abilities and everything in between.
My Project
I am asking for some of my favorite children's novels on tape. (I bet they are probably some of your favorites too). These novels are classics. They are some of the best books ever written for kids and I want my kids to love them as much as I do. However, most of my students can not read these books independently. My hope is to let my students listen to these books.
Several of my students are not reading on grade level.
This is holding them back from some of the best children's literature ever written. They need more complex texts than what they are able to pick up and read independently. With the books on CDs, my students will be able to listen and discuss new books.
