My students need an iPad and Apple TV to present student-created slideshows, videos and lessons, display teaching content easier and allow for integration of technology to provide interactive and engaging lessons.
When you walk into this science classroom, imagine a teacher and her students having deep discussions about the Universe, Earth, processes that shape Earth both inside and on the surface. Now, imagine students being prompted to think outside of the box and encouraged to discuss their thoughts, ideas and experiences in a positive and supportive learning environment. My goal is to prepare our students to be successful in high school, college and in their career by providing them to develop critical thinking, higher level questioning and application skills.
My 8th grade Earth & Space students are young scientists who are curious about the world around them.
They spend the year learning how investigate phenomena to uncover how the Universe and our Earth are interconnected. My students love to play games and engage in laboratory experiments or demonstrations in which they can manipulate objects to see phenomenon we are investigation in action.
My Project
Having an iPad and Apple TV in the classroom will allow students to connect their iPads, classroom Mac Minis, and teacher computer to the projector to be displayed.
The Apple TV and iPad will increase collaboration and the sharing of videos, presentations, notes, and slideshows with the rest of the students in their class as well as allow the teacher to be able to move around the classroom more easily.
Students will be able to use the Apple TV and iPad to interact with the content they are learning and receive feedback from their peers in order to enhance their understanding and learning.
The Apple TV will give the teacher with the ability to provide students with more feedback and will increase the engagement and curiosity of students. In the coming weeks, students will be conducting research and create different ways such as powerpoints, prezis, videos, interactive games to present what they learned about constellations and the planets.
