Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you believe that second graders can teach you something? I believe that my students have a lot to teach each other if they are given the chance. With a document camera, my students can help each other learn.
My awesome students are second graders who attend their neighborhood school, which means most of them live near enough to walk to school.
Our school is a melting pot of students and teachers with different backgrounds and life experiences but we are all working towards the same thing: improving and learning as much as we can.
My Project
Imagine sitting in the back of the room and trying to see your classmate's journal writing and picture. Or think about how challenging it is to see the science experiment your teacher is doing at the front of the room, when you're 6 desks away. Many things happen in a second grade classroom that are hard to see if you aren't sitting right in front. With a document camera, it will be no problem to see what is going on! We simply have to put whatever it is we want to show others under the camera and we'll be able to see it, in color, on our big screen.
I'm requesting a document camera so my students can share their work, see pictures in a small chapter book, easily follow along with the steps of a science project, see math manipulatives as they are used to solve a math problem, and even edit each other's written work.
With our classroom laptop and projector, this document camera will truly change the way we learn in our classroom.
It will save time and increase students' engagement. With your support, students will really be able to see it all.
