I teach an amazing, inquisitive, and engaging group of second-grade students who are dedicated to learning a second language in a Spanish Immersion program.
My students come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
They work together to develop their literacy skills in both languages and to learn about each other's culture. I teach in a Title I school where most of our students do not have adequate learning materials and/or resources at home. Despite many hardships, my students come to school eager to learn and do their best.
I am currently using my whiteboard to project the online resources for our reading and math programs as well as educational learning games and videos. I use my overhead projector daily to teach language arts and math lessons. Since we do not have a projector screen I have to constantly erase the whiteboard and/or rearrange and move important resources and charts from the whiteboard to allow students to view images. It is very time-consuming since we transition from table work to whole group lessons using the projector during various times a day!
A projector screen and a portable speaker will allow my students to see and hear curriculum content clearly.
Having a projector screen and a portable speaker would allow my students to see images clearly without glare and a shining reflection from the board. A portable speaker would provide a clear audible sound for read-aloud books and educational videos.
