Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We are an active and inquisitive second grade class in a Title I school.
We are an IB school. Our vision is to encourage all of us to be responsible citizens and leaders in the global community. Most of our students are in need both academically and with respect to materials. We are working hard to reach our goals and to improve. So far we are doing a wonderful job but we still have a long way ahead of us.
My Project
With the Scholastic News Readers my students will develop so much needed reading strategies and skills. Also they will create conscience about the global community through the news. The most exciting part is that with Scholastic News the students can practice their skills.With new monthly topics will maintain the students engaged in their learning. They also come to practice the lesson with exercises. I can use these materials in centers, during close read or read aloud, for independent work, collaborative group work, and whole class instruction. There are so many ways and opportunities to use them.
The differential activity books can help me create activities in different levels to fulfill my students necessities.
With these tools, Scholastic News and the differentiate activities books, my students can practice reading every week with new updated information.
