My Students

Do you remember what it was like the first time you read a book that you couldn't put down? I want to spark my students' interest in reading and I need your help! I am a first year classroom teacher and unfortunately do not have my own classroom library.

My students have a variety of learning styles and I need to be sure that I am catering to their needs.

Since I am a second grade teacher, some of the children will start the school year on a second grade reading level, but many will start the year reading a first grade level or lower.

My Project

If I am able to receive funding for my classroom library, it will help to ensure that my students have a variety of materials to use during independent reading. High interest, low level books foster an interest in reading, allowing the students to find success in the classroom. Positive experiences with literature will ultimately lead to fluent readers.

In order for our future leaders to read, WE need to plant the seed!

These books will not only benefit my 60 students, but will also be used by countless students in the years to come. Please consider making a donation today and be the change you wish to see in the world.
