We Can Read Books by Ourselves
Help me give my students books to add to our classroom library that they can read at their own level.
My students are AMAZING! I teach kindergarten in Chicago, and my students are some of the most energetic and enthusiastic learners there are! We are really hard workers and dedicated to our learning. My students are from a neighborhood in Chicago where most are living in economically challenging situations, yet they strive to overcome these challenges by maintaining positive attitudes and seeking out opportunities for growth and self-improvement. We are a "Leader in Me" school, so all of my students understand that they have to give their very best every day and are leaders in their daily lives. Many of my students are also English language learners, which can be a challenge, but they do not let this stop them from learning. Our school community and neighborhood are very supportive and nurturing and each member contributes to our learning in some way.
Help my students get books that they can use during independent reading time and small group time to read on their own level. Many of my students are beginning to understand that they can use their reading super powers to read books all by themselves and this is building a lot of excitement in our kindergarten room. I want to continue to build this excitement by getting my students more books they can read on their own and help them feel success. Please help support our project to build our classroom library. Thank you for your consideration of our class project!
