My students need games to build their logical reasoning such as the Roller Coaster Challenge Logic & Building Game and team sets of math fluency games such as the Pop For Addition & Subtraction Game.
I have 18 eager first grade students from various backgrounds. My children are all early readers, ranging from independent readers to reading with much support. They are blooming mathematicians and very excited scientists. They are between six and seven years old.
I have some very active kids that are extremely interested in learning.
This is my second year with these children and they are well rounded students that love to be at school. We are building a classroom community that focuses on trust, acceptance, and comfort in order achieve the kids' highest learning potential.
My Project
My students are such eager learners that are very social. We have a time devoted each day for literacy stations, but they need some new and exciting games! In addition to literacy stations, I would love to be able to set a time weekly for these children to learn through some logic games and practice their math skills. I have chosen some great games to help the kids build their skills and work together. They will be able to work in partners, teams, or even independently if they finish other tasks early.
Learning with friends is such a rewarding and encouraging way for kids to practice skills!
By providing new and challenging games, these kids can develop logical reasoning, math fluency, and word building knowledge. The games I have chosen are games that require deeper thinking, analysis, and fluency. These are necessary skills for first graders to develop and use in order to be ready for more difficult skills. Having interesting games would keep the kids engaged and excited about practicing their new skills! My students love to be together and what better way to build social skills than with learning games!
