My Students

My students come to school with the anticipation of learning. I do not have the problem of intrinsic motivation most other teachers contend with. My students also demand the tools and experiences to keep that level of interest.

Students choose to attend from 15 school districts and are bused to and from their home school; some districts are up to 45 minutes away.

The classes are 2 1/2 hours of both 20% lecture and 80% hands on learning which allows for much more in-depth learning and practical experience time.

My Project

While Windows and Linux take up the majority of the operating systems that my students repair and trobleshoot, they are also tested on others, such as the Mac IOS. It is very difficult to have them troubleshoot and repair with out having a device to allow them to physically work on and interact with.

The purpose of this MacBook is to allow them to do just that, learn by doing on an actual machine.

By being able to "Break it and fix it" is one of the best CTE training methods for kinistetic learners; however so far, without the physical device they have been limited in their learning to watching videos and reading blogs and whitepapers.
