My Students
These materials are for a wonderful group of 3rd graders who are excited about learning! My favorite part of teaching is helping my students develop a love for learning! Our school is amazing, and it is a very warm and inviting place. We have a wonderful community of teachers, parents, and students working hard every day to help everyone succeed.
My school has a very diverse population of students and families.
We are located in what some call a bedroom community, because parents work farther from home. Some of our students are low income, English Language Learners, come from single-parent homes, or are living with other guardians. It can be challenging meeting the needs of the varying abilities and backgrounds of the students, but it is something I enjoy doing. I am looking to instill a love for learning in my students.
My Project
Every year we ask families to send in headphones for their students. We use the headphones when students use the classroom Chromebooks. Every year, there are several students that never bring headphones. I usually have a few extra sets on hand, but I am now running out.
Sometimes families cannot afford headphones.
By having extras on hand, we are able to give students a set to use for the year. We also do our state and district testing on Chromebooks that require students to use headphones. The school will provide earbuds which tend to be difficult for students to use and uncomfortable.
