This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have the pleasure of working with resilient and bright bilingual students! My students are hardworking, responsible, and determined to succeed! Despite the challenges they face daily, our students come to school ready to learn! We are in a dual immersion classroom and feel so grateful to be able to learn Spanish and English every day. My students know that their knowledge of two languages will help prepare them for the 21st Century workforce. I am requesting prizes that my students will be able to earn as an incentive in class. My students LOVE prizes! Who doesn't, right?

This project will bring exciting rewards to my students for all of their incredible resiliency and hard work throughout the school year.

Incentives are a great way to amplify positive feedback, praise, and motivation for our students. It's even a financial literacy/ math lesson because, for every 5 class dojo points that students earn, they can redeem 1 prize. I have heard students say, "I have 20 points, which means I can get 4 prizes because 20 divided by 5 is 4.

I reward every student who participates, shows good character, and works their best, which I believe has created a climate where students are not afraid to take risks and create their own solutions.

All of the materials that I requested were chosen for maximum impact on my students' motivation and self-esteem.

You will make it possible to reward my students for taking risks and applying their knowledge to all aspects of our classroom environment.
