As a teacher in a low-income school, I know that my students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students have a love for literacy, they are creative authors, scientists and mathematicians.
Many of my students are being raised in single parent households and receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. My students know that together we are a family. Together we focus on how we can make the world a better place.
My Project
The the fifteen books I am requesting will be used o fill our Author of the Month Book Shelf. By donating to our project, you will not only help my students become great authors but you will also give them the opportunity to be introduced to new genres and authors to help them fall in love with reading.
Students will be studying different mentor authors each month to become stronger readers and writers.
Students can use these texts to help them bring their writing to life. They can also grab a seat in one of our various book nooks in the classroom and imagine they are a part of the story.
