Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are always hungry for knowledge and engage themselves in learning activities. Our elementary school uses inquiry-based curriculum - allowing students to use their curiosity and critical thinking skills.
100% of our students receiving free lunch due to the diverse economic backgrounds in our elementary school.
Most of the students have learned to work together even with all the issues that arise due to conflicting personalities. Teaching them to be caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect has also improved their academic ability.
My Project
I have several groups that are differentiated by academic ability. Working with one group at is difficult when trying to manage all 28 students in my class.
Having flexible seating will allow my students to stay engaged on their task and relaxed during difficult learning times.
I feel like their will be more accountability on my students when they get the opportunity to choose their own desired seat.
The materials included for this project are wobble cushions, stability stool, exercise ball chairs, balance boards, floor cushions and a math challenge book set (Beast Academy). All these materials will benefit my students with accountability and getting challenged in math through reading.
