Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are creative, curious, eager, and determined to learn. They have built a safe learning environment where they can feel comfortable in stepping out of their comfort zone. They love supporting and challenging one another. They are the most understanding, respectful, and compassionate students I have met. Not only are they learning but they are also developing skills to become a better version of themselves. In addition, they are eager to expand their knowledge with technology and with coding in order to become future developers in technology. I am so grateful to be working with such an amazing sixth grade group!
My Project
My students are English Language Learners (ELLs) and live in an area where many learning opportunities are not provided to them due to financial reasons. My project is being able to provide a whole new learning experience to my students that they have never experienced in their lives. They will learn about the importance of coding, the vocabulary, be able to engage in activities, and most importantly learning how to code. My students need a lot of visuals and hands-on because they are ELLs.nThis would convey the importance of coding when my students are able to demonstrate their learning by applying it in the classroom through a coding device.
