My students need vibrant cheer bows, pom-poms, and other accessories to add some pep to their standard uniforms and engage the crowd at events.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are the first ever cheer squad at our school and our mission is to boost the Wildcat spirit and energy of our student population! Our brand new cheer team practices after school and focuses on good sportsmanship, moral values, dedication, and various traditional cheer skills and drills.
This is a group of 15 dedicated girls and boys (aged 8-12) who are cheering their hearts out to make our school a more lively and spirited place.
70% of the student population at our school is eligible for free and reduced price lunch and we are a Title 1 school. We offer many after school enrichment programs, but have limited funding for the extra supplies that really make students excited to participate in these classes. Parents of the students at our school often work strange or long hours and can not afford to provide these resources to the kids for extra costs.
The students who participate in the after school cheer team at our school are dedicated and deserving of these resources.
My Project
Acquiring these metallic pom poms and matching bows will help my cheerleaders stand out during their performances at after school program games and school functions. The pom poms are sure to catch the crowd's attention and make the squads' motions sharper and more exciting to cheer along to (this will, in-turn, elicit a better response from the crowd). The bows will be a nice touch to our standard uniforms of just black leggings or shorts and white t-shirts. I think if our small team were given pom poms and bows, they would be through the roof thrilled; and have even more spirit than they already do to continue to cheer on our school!
Having these simple cheer accessories will make our school cheer squad an even more fun and exciting program .
I think other students will take our cheerleaders more seriously, as they will look more uniform and professional, and might even be interested in joining in on the fun for years to come.
